BUDGET is a trading name of BISL Limited, part of the BGL Group . The data controller is BISL Limited registered in England and Wales registered number 03231094 at Pegasus House, Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, Peterborough. In this Privacy Policy, "we", "us" and "our" means BISL Limited and "you" and "your" means the person who wishes to use the website.
2. Your Rights
We comply with and are registered under the data protection laws in the United Kingdom and take all reasonable steps to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal data. You are entitled, on payment of the fee of £10, made payable to BISL Limited to see details of the information we hold about you. If any of the information held is inaccurate we will also make any necessary amendments and confirm to you that these have been made. You have the right to request at any time that we and/or carefully selected companies cease processing your personal data for marketing purposes. You are also entitled to ask us to remove personal information from our records and if you wish to do this then please write to the Data Protection Officer at the address above . Please provide your full name, address and date of birth when contacting us.

4. Claims & Underwriting Exchange Register
Insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register run by Insurance Database Services Limited (IDS Ltd), the Hunter Database, run by MCL Software Ltd and the Motor Insurance Anti Fraud and Theft Register, run by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) to help us check information provided and also to prevent fraudulent claims. When we deal with your request for insurance, we may search these Registers and any other relevant registers. Under the conditions of your policy, you must tell us about any incident (such as an accident or theft) which may give rise to a claim. When you tell us about an incident, we will pass this information to the Registers and to any other relevant registers. You can ask us for more information about this.
5. Motor Insurance Database
Your van insurance policy details will be added to the Motor Insurance Database (MID), run by the Motor Insurers' Information Centre (MIIC). MID data may be used by the DVLA and DVLNI for the purpose of Electronic Vehicle Licensing and by the Police for the purposes of establishing whether a driver's use of the vehicle is likely to be covered by a motor insurance policy and/or for preventing and detecting crime. If you are involved in an accident (in the UK or abroad), other UK insurers, the Motor Insurers' Bureau and MIIC may search the MID to obtain relevant van insurance policy information. Persons pursuing a claim in respect of a road traffic accident (including citizens of other countries) may also obtain relevant information which is held on the MID.

6. Insurance Administration, Renewal and Claims Handling
Information you supply may be used for the purpose of insurance administration, renewal and claims handling by the insurer, its agents, re-insurers and your intermediary. In assessing any claims made, insurers may undertake checks against publicly available information such as Electoral Register, County Court Judgments, bankruptcy or repossession information. Information may also be shared with other insurers either directly or via those acting for the insurer such as Loss Adjusters or investigators.
7. Marketing and Market Research
BISL Limited, part of the BGL Group , which also trades as Dial Direct and Bennetts, and other carefully selected companies may use your information to keep you informed by post, telephone, email or other means of products and services which may be of interest to you. They may also contact you to conduct market research. Your information may also be used for the above purposes after your policy has lapsed. If you do not wish your information to be used for these purposes please write to the Data Protection Officer at the address set out in the "Your Rights" section above.

8. Recommend a Friend
When you provide details of a friend to whom an e-mail is to be sent you confirm the following:-
- That you have obtained the consent of your friend to pass your friend's details to us and for your friend to receive the e-mail from us.
- That you are happy for us to disclose your details as the person who asked that we send the e-mail to your friend
We will not use that person's details for any marketing purposes.
9. Credit Searches
In assessing your application/renewal, we may search files made available to us by Credit Reference Agencies. They may keep a record of that search. We may also pass to Credit Reference Agencies information we hold about you and your payment record with us. Credit Reference Agencies share information with other organisations, enabling applications for financial products to be assessed or to assist the tracing of debtors, or to prevent fraud. We may ask Credit Reference Agencies to provide a credit scoring computation. Credit scoring uses a number of factors to work out risks involved in any application. A score is given to each factor and a total score obtained and this together with other factors will be used to accept or reject your application.
10. Sensitive Personal Data
In order to assess the terms of the insurance contract or administer claims, we will need to collect personal data which the Data Protection Act 1998 defines as sensitive, such as medical history or criminal convictions. By proceeding with this contract, you will signify your explicit consent to such information being processed by the insurer or its agents.
11. Overseas Transfer of Data
We and the other companies processing your data for the purposes mentioned above may from time to time need to undertake some of the processing in countries outside of the European Economic Area which may not have laws to protect your personal data, but in all cases we will ensure that it is kept securely and only used for the purposes for which you provided it. By requesting a quote, you confirm that all drivers on your policy are UK residents or that the property to be insured is located within the UK and that if there is any change to this status then you would immediately notify the insurance provider.
