White Tan Man
May 2008Findings from a poll* by Budget Van Insurance show nearly half of tradesmen who work outdoors throughout the summer will take their shirt off to ensure an even tan! However, only 19% of sun-savvy van drivers said they would always apply sunscreen to protect their skin.
It seems Britain’s tradesmen are making the most of working outdoors over the summer to ensure they catch an even, golden tan. A quarter of participants said they would never wear sunscreen, and 56% of those who work outdoors through the summer are up for getting roasted, as they don’t worry about getting sunburned.
A sensible third of those polled by Budget Van Insurance said they would sometimes wear sunscreen, and nearly a quarter (22%) said they would only wear sunscreen if it was sunny.
Mnveer Arkan, Head of Marketing for Budget Van Insurance says:
“This poll shows that tradesmen are trying to make the most of working outdoors throughout the summer, and are keen to avoid dreaded tan lines. However, it is important for everyone, not just tradesmen, to ensure that their skin is adequately protected from the sun, even on days when it’s not sunny!”
